timandstaciejenner Posted December 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2017 Im seeing different ages for Dunns River Falls on just about every excursion place i look. anyone know ages? Some say 4 some say doesnt matter the age. We will have a 3 year old with us. Any other suggestions? Looking into the Grotto Caves as well. Or a combo of the two
ReggaeRoy Posted December 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2017 My youngest was 3 1/2 the first time he climbed Dunn's River Falls. No problems at all. You could also look into the bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae River (which is very close to the Falmouth port). Combine that with the Caves and you should have a nice day. Capt_BJ Posted December 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2017 the National Park that is DRF has no age limits - children under the age of 4 are not charged for admission particular cruise excursions often do have age limits ..... this is THEIR restriction for participation, not the park's I've seen folks in the water of the falls with babes in arms .... http://www.dunnsriverfallsja.com/faqs
jdvmd Posted December 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2017 My son was 2.5 years. We had a guy that helped us up the falls and it was well worth paying him a small tip. Helped us all.
Capt_BJ Posted December 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2017 guides at DRF work for tips guides are not required to climb the falls I recommend folks use a guide their first climb if no one has been b4 (guides know where the main path is and keep you on it once comfortable I recommend 'go up the middle'!!!! folks on the left are a typical cruise Conga line with a guide .... we're freelancing! here again you see folks behind us on a 'cruise visit' ... while we enjoy one of the pools along the way .... pokerpro5 Posted December 13, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 13, 2017 I would recommend Konoko Falls if you have a young child. A certified lifeguard helps you climb it. It's also FAR less crowded than Duns River Falls, and it's an easier climb. I think it's a better experience.
