lifeasme123 Posted December 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2017 I am looking at booking a private tour for our group of 7 to see Stonehenge and Bath from Heathrow area. We will not have any luggage. I have contacted few tour operators. One in particular told me that a 8-seater minivan is small for our family and that we should consider a 16-seater coach. It seems excessive, plus the price is about double that of the 8-seater. For those who have been in the 8-seater minivan, would that be small and not comfortable for 7 people? TIA! Bob++ Posted December 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2017 I depends on what model they are using. some of these look fine to me http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/tips-and-advice/154961/best-eight-seater-cars. There are a lot of seven-seat SUVs around and they would certainly not be good.
sddsddean Posted December 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Define 'family'. If you are all 20+ year old adults, an 8 seater will be a squeeze. If its Mum, Dad and 6 under 15 kids...not so bad. Simon

sddsddean Posted December 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2017 In that case it could be a bit tight. Don’t forget, do to that route, you are going to be on the van for at least 4 and probably nearer 5 hours travelling. Depends how comfy you want to be, but I’d be inclined to go for the bigger one. You are on holiday after all! Simon

Bob++ Posted December 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Not really the age - more the size.
sddsddean Posted December 16, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 16, 2017 As Bob pointed out, I was refering to adult vs child rather than actual age. Simon

Zeta3 Posted December 18, 2017 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2017 If the 8 seats included the driver and 7 passengers it will be tight as the tours generally have supplied with them like water, brochures, etc. that can easily be tossed in the front seat unless a passenger is there.
