PlainvilleGirl Posted December 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2017 My daughter, her husband, and 2 year old son are going on a RCL cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale in late February. They are wondering if they can get a cab/Uber drive from the airport to the cruise port without bringing a car seatwith them. Any suggestions or tips for them? Thank you in advance. easyboy Posted December 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2017 You can also post on the Florida Departures board for more response from those familiar with FLL transport. There was a previous thread on the board on car seats. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2537945 Sent from my iPhone using Forums

NinaSoCruising Posted March 5, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2018 There's probably no way to avoid the car seat! Uber,Lyft or taxi drivers are usually responsible for fines and costs for a child not being in a proper car seat ..maybe some will accept responsibility for it but most won't! Doesn't hurt to ask! JH31115 Posted March 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2018 For a car you need car seats. If taking a shuttle or bus you do not. Last time we cruised from FLL we took the cruise ship transfers to avoid bringing seats(I have twins, two car seats is too much with luggage). I’m sure you could also ask on trip advisor forums to see if there are drivers with car seats that are reasonably priced. Mallefiscent Posted March 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 18, 2018 I'm an ER nurse. Car seats should always be used. Period.
BearBear12 Posted March 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 18, 2018 There are independent drivers or shuttles, found one on Yelp, that do provide a car seat. You won’t get the free shuttle from airport to hotel - that’s usually priced per person, but some do have car seats. It beats having to lug around the car seat in the cruise cabin. GeorgesGal Posted March 18, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 18, 2018 In Florida, carseats are MANDATORY for children under 5 years of age.
