Gastro Illness

Recommended Posts

As previous posters have said it is that time of year.

Noro is more common in the winter months and all you have to do is add the higher rate of children that are encountered during the holiday season and you have a better than average chance of seeing Noro on the ship.

As also stated above, you are the one who is responsible if you get the sickness. All you have to do is wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands and do not put them near your face.

We cruise many times a year but always cruise the last two weeks of the year (love having Christmas and New Years on the ships). In 9 years of Holiday cruising (on several lines) we have seen small outbreaks on virtually every holiday cruise. We have never been impacted (so far).

Someone asked about the room attendants and gloves. On Royal and Celebrity gloves are put on in each room and disposed of before entering the next room (if you get a chance to see them exiting a room after cleaning just watch...).

You can catch Noro just as easily at church, school or the grocery (shopping cart handles are a petri dish). No sense worrying about it, just wash those hands!

Funny! The coins in your pocket are dirtier than that guys...member...

Actually, men would be better served washing their hands *before* urinating.

But yes, washy washy!

Coins are microbially clean. the metal inhibits bacterial growth.

Now paper money is another thing entirely. NASTY stuff.

And most people are better off washing first. Your hands touch all sorts of things. Your parts have YOUR bacteria, that you have naturally.
