Port Canaveral - things to do besides Space Center and Disney

I'm on the Pride 12/31 cruise and we have a port day in Port Canaveral from 7:00 am-6:00 pm. Other than Space Center and Disney/Universal, can anyone recommend things to do for the day? Renting a car is probably what I will do and don't mind exploring the area. Thanks

Go to the pier in Coco Beach for a meal.

There's not much other than the beach in Cocoa Beach.

 

The pier is about four miles from PC.
