oufpat Posted January 23, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 23, 2018 We really enjoyed our time at Hotel Colon. And if you have time, I would recommend a trip to Montserat, it was breath taking.
Rare mskaufman Posted January 23, 2018 #27 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Does Hotel Jazz provide transportation from the cruise port to the hotel? Thanks We stayed there pre cruise and just called a taxi. Relatively simple and inexpensive.
dogs4fun Posted January 23, 2018 #28 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Does Hotel Jazz provide transportation from the cruise port to the hotel? Thanks We stayed at the Jazz a few years ago & the hotel did not provide transportation. They did call a taxi for us - worked well.
OceanPatter Posted January 27, 2018 #29 Share Posted January 27, 2018 On the topic of hotels, we've booked H10 Casa Mimosa. It's rated #1 on tripadvisor, and seems relatively new (with not a whole lot of reviews). It does look lovely, however.
EnricM Posted January 27, 2018 #30 Share Posted January 27, 2018 Don't want to spoil your choice, but take TripAdvisor ranking with a pinch of salt (or rather a whole bucket!), it's hardly reliable.
NewCruiser51912 Posted February 28, 2018 #31 Share Posted February 28, 2018 My husband and I are coming into Barcelone June 10 from the NCL Epic and staying at Hotel Suizo in the Gothic Quarter (right by Hotel Colon) for 2 nights before flying out. This thread is very helpful! Does anyone here have any experience with Hotel Suizo and things to do around there? We'll have been travelling for almost 3 weeks at this point so we'll be looking for relaxing things to do. I'm also looking for fantastic restaurants (hopefully not crazy expensive) as hubby and I love to experience good local food. I do see there's a fresh food market close by. Is that worth stopping at? grnrab Posted March 1, 2018 #32 Share Posted March 1, 2018 My preference are the hotels run by the Catalonia hotel and resorts chain. They have two hotels near the barcelona cathedral that are both on non-busy streets. The also have a hotel just above Placa de Cataluyna. Several folks also recommend Hotel Lleo just adjacent to the Placa towards Universitat metro. Also recommended is Hotel St. Moritz above the Placa on a less busy street. I tend to prefer less busy areas off busy streets. Suizo could be noisy because its on very busy Via Leitana, but it's set back a block.
grnrab Posted March 1, 2018 #33 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Suizo leaves you very close to Picasso Museum and is great for walking around El Born district ( many restaurants by foot) as well as the Cathedral and Las Ramblas heading the other direction.
