Escape - Haven Aft Facing Penthouse - Questions

Hi there everyone...

Just got moved into the Haven Aft Facing Penthouse Suite. I have done research on the room - and can't wait.

However, I have some questions that I can't seem to find answers for. Hoping someone might be able to help.

I know all the basic perks of the Haven (the courtyard, the restaurant, the lounge, the sundeck) - the "places" that are included.

I have the UBP - but I think that normally only includes drinks up to a certain dollar amount. Since I am in the Haven - is this now different? Also I believe room service is an extra charge - again, is it included for the Haven rooms?

For the private island - is there an area specifically for the Haven guests? I thought I read that there was.

Any other information on the Haven benefits would be greatly appreciated. So looking forward to the cruise.

Thanks again.

You'll love the Aft Haven. The UBP rules are the same for Haven guests (at least as far as I know. We never were turned down for a drink so I assume we never went over the $15.00 limit but maybe it was a higher limit?). Room service is free but not alcohol in room or delivered by your butler. When we last traveled in the Haven, we didn't go to a private island so I don't know the answer to that. Other perks -- once through security at the port, you will be placed in a private Haven lounge (really just a room with snacks) where you will be checked in. Then they will come and escort you onto the ship before everyone. They literally parade you through the masses who stare at you! Odd feeling for sure! Then you go to the Haven lounge on board where they will get you a drink and serve sliders while they give a welcome speech. Then to your room. No lugging your stuff around waiting for your room! They also made Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville free for Haven guests that afternoon. Not sure whether that happens on all cruises, but probably that one or another restaurant not open to everyone. Enjoy!

Haven't been on Escape or an aft penthouse yet (Breakaway in 32 days) but we were in a forward facing penthouse last year on the Breakaway and ordered alcoholic drinks at night and were never charged for them.

Nobody is turned down for a drink that is over $15. With the UBP, the amount over $15 (plus 20%) is charged to the on-board account. A $17.95 drink with the UBP is charged $2.95 + 20% ($3.54).
