Question About Beverage Package + Internet

Recommended Posts

We are on Freedom Jan 6th. We have 4 cabins. For me and hubby we purchased the beverage + voom package so that gives us 2 internet passes. There are 7 of us traveling. Will we be able to share these 2 internet passes? I know only 2 can be logged in at one time. Also, was it mandatory that both me and hubby get the same exact package? We could have saved 100 dollars if we only to one pass for the internet.

Thanks

You can share the internet with anyone you like. You did not have to get the same deal, one could have gotten the combo and the other the beverage package alone.

When you set up your internet account you set up a log in and password. You can give this to anyone you want to let them use your internet time.

If you only need one device logged on at a time you could just buy one device package. Just depends how many want to be online at the same time.

Just beware that if you give the login into for a one-device package to 7 other people, you better have a way of coordinating access, otherwise it's going to be very frustrating.

Thanks for all the great feedback.

We have 4 cabins so for most part the couples would be staying together. If I keep 2 internet packages I could give 1 to each 2 cabins. I was thinking of it as a way to keep in touch if needed. We could post messages to facebook to group and if they are looking for someone they could check their facebook. I might be overthinking this too much about making it easy to meet up during day. I was going to get walkie talkies but my adult kids thought that was totally unnecessary.

I could also save 100 dollars and only get 1 internet package or save 200 dollars and forget about the internet. I usually like having internet so I can keep in touch with my kids when on vacation but they are all with me.

Hi - I have one more questions. So if I keep 2 internet packages and I give 2 cabins an internet ID to use could we use facebook as a way to communicate. I am not sure if this would really help us or not.

Yes, you can access Facebook using Royal's internet service.

Thanks Bob. But does that mean we could post a message to facebook and then log out and others could log in to see if there are any new messages? I'm not sure if this will really be helpful because it won't push the message to the iphone unless you are logged into the account.

Sorry, I don't know the details of Facebook operation. However, if you can see messages that were sent when you were not logged in now, then the same technique should work while on the ship,

I have got to practice more if I want to be faster than Bob.....:D

Happy New Year Bob!!!

Thanks for all of your help this year!!!!

EVERYONE needs to practice to be faster than Bob! ;p

One additional comment to the OP. You need to be sure to actually Log off Royal Caribbean's internet for a different device to be used immediately. If you simply shut your device down, it says that it remains logged on to their internet for 2 hours. Haven't tried it to verify, I always log off. If you can't find the "log off" page ask the Internet specialist or try "logoff.com"

We did exactly this on our February 2017 cruise. I would FB messenger my hubby and log off. He would periodically log in and out to see if I had messaged him or vice versa! We found it worked pretty well to find each other when we went separate ways for a bit.
