AC Diplomatic vs. Atrium Palace

Recommended Posts

We stayed at the AC Diplomatic in 2003 and is a very modern hotel. The employees were very helpful. We have booked it again this year. The restraunt food was very good and we had breakfast their each morning. It is near everything and a short walk to Las Ramblas.

I can not talk about the AC Diplomatic, but we enjoyed our stay at the Atrium Palace in Aug 2003. At the time it was so new that the taxi drivers did not know it existed. Its well located, about a 5 minute walk from Calalunya Square, with modern conveniences including air conditioning that really worked.

We stayed at the Atrium Palace last June and found it modern, clean and centrally located to many sights. Our room was not large, but it suited our needs for two nights. There was a safe and an ironing board, and the marble bathroom was lovely despite the fact that they don't provide washcloths. The downside was that the floors are all wood, so sound bounces around and noise in the hall could be heard quite clearly in the room.

You might want to search this forum for information on both hotels, as well as checking www.tripadvisor.com. There have been many, many threads over the past year that mentioned these hotels along with many others.

We stayed at the AC Diplomatic in November 2004. We would stay again, found it convenient, clean and modern. Another plus is a complimentary stocked mini bar, including water, juices and even beers. Nice touch!

Travelalot2,

We ahve stayed at the Ac and it was very good, but not as good as others we have stayed at.

On the price, We always use http://www.hotelscomparison.com and just takinga random day in May, I have found that the Atrium is 140 euros against 200 euros for the AC Diplomatic. So over 2 days thats 120 euros difference.

Give it a try.
