Tours out of Limon

I am looking for recommendations for excursions out of Limon. Most that I seem to find require a 2 hour drive to get there. I would like something closer to port...anyone have any suggestions?

Look at the tours that are.offered by the ship and other sources. Determine what interests you, make a list of your interests, then when you arrive in Limon, take the list to a taxi or van driver and make a deal.

You may have to eliminate some items due to time or distance limitations, but it will be your tour at possibly a great price.

Years ago we did a Banana Train excursion through our cruiseline. It started at the pier with a very short bus transfer to the train. The train ride was an hour or two, and quite interesting. The bus met us at the end for the return to the ship.

Prior to that visit, we just walked around the town, mainly the city park, where we spotted a sloth in a tree.
