misspCO Posted January 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2018 This will be our 3rd trip to Alaska and we're considering a cruise for part of it. I'm used to eating a gluten free diet and don't usually have much trouble managing that, but I have recently developed a severe shrimp allergy. Does anyone have experience with cruising with food allergies, and more specifically choosing an Alaska cruise with dietary restrictions?
easyboy Posted January 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2018 My grandson has allergy on nuts and my daughter discuss with the Maitre ‘d his dietary restrictions on embarkation day. He is always given the following night’s menu and advised on what to ask at the different food venues. Never had to use his Epipen. Rare Keith1010 Posted January 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2018 All of the cruise lines can deal with them. You note this on the reservation and when boarding speak with the Maitre d' and even the head chest and they will address this for you. Once you select your cruise line I would post on the Cruise Line Board just to confirm who others have spoken with before and once on the ship for that cruise line.
