misssea Posted May 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Just wondering what everyone's favorite and least favorite desserts were on carnival ships. I will be cruising next April/05 on the Miracle and want to make sure I don't miss out on something good.
Cotton Posted May 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Hmmm. So many to choose from! I like the Grand Marnier Souffle, Strawberry Crepes, and Chocolate Decadence. Just too many to name. And by all means, order the complimentary espresso to go w/your dessert! ger_77 Posted May 21, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2004 I don't know if they still have it or not, but my husband fell in love with the Baba au rum on our last Carnival trip in 2000.(they're a small dark cake soaked in rum) He found them in the Lido the morning after they were served for dessert and kept having them instead of waffles or pancakes! Smooth Sailing! deerby27 Posted October 3, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2004 Save yourself some night and get a piece of the seven(+/-) layer chocolate cake from the pastry bar. Costs around $2.00, but is to die for!!!!!
Cotton Posted October 3, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 3, 2004 On the CTN a coupla weeks ago, I had the Flan. (I think they just called it Caramel Custard.) It was really very good. I also had two tortes - both good - one was chocolate and the other was mango. Unfortunately, the Grand Marnier Souffle' wasn't very good this cruise.;)
freddiebud Posted October 7, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 7, 2004 folks are going to jump all over me on this one - but i liked the 'dietitic' choice. even tho' i am a chocolate addict (inject it right into my veins), i liked the flavored sponge cake with whipped cream frosting. just right after a heavy dinner (and the chocolate dessert!! LOL).
cricket Posted October 11, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 11, 2004 To tell you the truth, I thought the Miracle desserts left something to be desired. We did go to the dessert bar and paid $2 for the most delicious chocolate cake we ever tasted.!
madelinerose Posted October 16, 2004 #9 Share Posted October 16, 2004 cricket, What desserts were on the menu? Why were you not pleased with them? Did you dine at Nick & Nora's? If so, please elaborate. We plan on reserving 2 nights there. We leave on the 24th! Thanks.
To tell you the truth, I thought the Miracle desserts left something to be desired. Steamboatin Posted February 5, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 5, 2005 The best dessert is the last one that was formerly in the empty plate in front of me. The worst dessert is the one that I could not order more than one of.
