Thank you in advance for any help that you can offer. Will you be visiting London before the cruise? If so, it's quite possible to travel down from London to Southampton on cruise day, be it by train, bus or private transfer.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can offer. We stayed at the Grand Harbour this past August. The hotel is very nice and perfect location. I made our reservation through hotels.com. We stayed for two nights...the day before our cruise we took a ferry to Isle of Wight.....so beautiful. The ferry port is within walking distance to the hotel. We bought tickets for the hoho bus and first went to Osborne House. Then rode the bus around the island after. This was one of my favorite days of our trip

kctwinmommy Posted January 24, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2018 We stayed at the Holiday Inn. The rooms were nice, large floor to ceiling windows, and super close to the pier. We were able to walk right over in the morning.
travellovers2 Posted January 25, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 25, 2018 We stayed at The Pig in the Wall. Lovely boutique hotel very close to the cruise terminal. We already reserved for Oct 2018. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cinsans Posted February 1, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2018 We are also sailing on Norwegian Jade in September and decided to stay at the mid-priced Ibis Southampton Centre for one night. It is within walking distance of City Center cruise terminal where the Jade will dock. https://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-1039-ibis-southampton-centre/index.shtml
Bob++ Posted February 1, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 1, 2018 I think that over here, Ibis are generally described as 'budget' hotels. If all you need is a no-frills place to stay for the night, they are perfectly acceptable.
Chocolate Teapot Posted February 3, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 3, 2018 Another budget hotel option would be Premier Inn. I stayed at one (there are several in Southampton) the night before taking a cruise. It helpfully had a telephone in reception connected to the local taxi company, so you could call a taxi to the cruise terminals and it would arrive within a few minutes. lamchops Posted February 4, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 4, 2018 I have also stayed at the premier inn a couple of times and it’s an easy walk from the train or bus station. It’s also close to shopping so DW has something to past the time.
