We are considering taking the jewel of the seas on a transatlantic April 2019. We have never been on the jewel of the seas what are the pros and cons? Where is the diamond lounge located? Do they have a breakfast for diamond plus at chops? Any other information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Keep in mind that on Jewel you will have easy 500+ Diamond and above for a transatlantic, which will make the experience concerning perks such as the lounge not feel too great since even with overflow area the place will be overcrowded and you will be better off away from the lounge than in it especially during cocktail time

They would likely open up the entire Safari Club area for Diamond and above like they did for our TA on Jewel this past November. It actually was not as bad as I expected. I think the drink vouchers do help with the lounge crowding. Plus, the appetizers were quite good, much different than what is normally offered in the lounge.

That sounds not bad then and maybe even better than the Diamond Lounge, since the Safari Club is really nice

I agree. They did some theme nights with the appetizers too. I remember British and Asian themes. There were more, but we didn't get down there every night.

Host Clarea after I expanded your signature; I notice you have sailed RCI quite a bit. I assume you like them the best. I also have sailed them more than other lines. Since I sailed Princess last July and was treated so well in our suite I am going to try them again. Did a suite on NCL and won't be back there. We even had a butler with our suite; but after two weeks my wife and I decided to try another cruise line; hence Princess came into the picture. Thanks

We started with RC and enjoyed it and saw no reason to change for a while. However, the last few years have seen many changes, so we are looking at other cruise lines now.

We were on the Jewel twice last year and one of the cons for me is the main dining room. They added cabins to that ship, but the dining room is still the same size. The tables are so close together, it is difficult for the wait staff to serve you. You are close enough to snatch a shrimp off the table next to you. We eat later (8:15-8:30) and it was still crowded and loud then--I can only imagine how it was earlier.
