My family, Son and his wife, and 2 boys, 17 and 21, takes 3 cabins, presently we are looking at Caribbean Princess Baja inside mid ship. If this was your choice, been on all of Carnival, Grand and Star a couple of times, should I go on Royal Caribbean's big ship? WHAT SHIP IS THE BEST FOR EVERYTHING?

We sailed the Caribbean Princess last year and there was alot to do. While their is no rock wall, their is Movies Under The Stars, fresh water pools, music for just about everyone. I can't imagine that anyone would be board. We enjoyed her so much we will be sailing on her again in June.

Hubby and I are booked for our fourth cruise on Caribbean Princess. We love that ship. We've been on Celebrity, RCCL, Norwegian, Carnival and Windstar multiple times, but always have the best time on the CB! Of course, if you ask on the RCCL board, I'm sure you will hear that line is the best one to choose. You may want to give more detail as to what you are looking for in a cruise vacation.

Do they like to participate in skating, wall climbing, etc? Princess is a little more laid back than the RCL big ships. It all depends on their interests.

I've been on RCL, Princess, Cunard, Celebrity, HAL, and others and I like Princess, but I am older.

They don't have a midnight buffet because they have a 24 hour buffet! Hands down, Caribbean Princess has the best pizza of any cruise ship and in a lot of cases (unless you live in NY) even better pizza than most pizza places.

I have sailed the Voyager of the Seas (One of the four of five egually Voyager class RCCL Ships) and just recently the Carribean Princess.

They both are great, but different.

I'll only deal with the pros.

Voyager has more grand spaces. 3 tiered single dining room, 7 deck atrium, Grand Promenade, larger two tiered theatre.

Voyager has more sports activity. Full size basketball, rollerblading, rock climbing, ice skating. (Tennis?)

The promenade has a fun English Pub and fun sports bar.

The promenade is like being on (nice) city street versus a ship.

The entertainment is a notch better.

The Voyager has a simple symetrical layout that is easy to navigate.

Voyager has Johnny Rockets hamburger emporium

Voyager has two pool areas, one main and one solarium (adult). The main area has two side by side pool.

Voyager has a very large (by ships standards) casino.

The CB will feel more like a small ship or yacht. It has smaller cozier spaces.

The dining experience in the CB is better. Better food, service, presentation, dessets.

The dining rooms on the CB are cozier, more intimate, sectioned seating areas that break up the room into smaller groups of 4-6 tables.

The CB has 4 pools, each with different character. The spa pool is small and quite. The main pool is loud and fun. The MUTS pool has MUTS. The aft pool is adults only and quiet with a nice view. The secret 5th pool on Deck 17 above the aft pool has a nice hot tub with a great view.

CP will have most likely have an Italian captain, maitre'd and chef and senior officers. They all love to eat and enjoy wine (except for the captain when he is on duty)

My recomendation is to do both at sometime in your life. I prefer the CB but that is because I like the dining experience and small ship feel. I also am glad I sailed the Voyager and had a chance to see the ship.

Check out JD at buycruises dot com and see if you can get a good price on a basic balcony room for you and the young married couple. Keep the boys in the inside. A balcony will significantly add to the experience, but if money is tight, then keep the inside and don't worry it.

Enjoy. :) :)

And it has Bert Stratton!!!

Basically we like good food and and good deserts and good midnight buffets.

Good food: yep, they've got that. The Caribe Cafe is not to be missed. Basically a casual high-end buffet. At night the tables are set with linen tablecloths and napkins with plenty of attentive wait staff to take care of you. An excellent alternative if you don't feel like dressing up for dinner.

Good deserts: Nope, you're on the water. No deserts here. I think you mean "desserts" though. :) Princess is known for their chocolate. So, if you're a chocoholic, you'll think you've died and gone to heaven. There are plenty of very good desserts at every meal.

Midnight buffets: Nope -- one or the other of the buffets is open 24 hours a day! :) You'll see varying opinions on these boards as to the quality of the food in the buffets, but if you get something that doesn't quite strike your fancy, go get something else. You will never walk away hungry. Keep in mind that the Caribbean Princess has two distinct buffets: the Horizon Court and the Caribe Cafe. The Caribe Cafe is located on the same deck and just aft of the Horizon Court. In my humble opinion, it is the best dining venue on the ship.

I Have Done Princess, Carnival, Royal And Ncl. They Were All Equal In My Eyes. All Provided A Different Experience. It All Depends On Wher Eyou Go And The Group That Ends Up On Your Ship. You Can End Up With A Larrge Group That May Not Be Your Cup Of Tea, But If You Enjoy Cruises You Will Never Have A Bad Time. I Am Also Younger, So Older Folks May Enjoy Ships That Are A Bit More Quiet.

I May Have Liked Ncl A Bit More, But Only B/c We Were In My Favorite Spot Ever, Hawaii.
