Dancingwithwolves Posted January 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Has anyone done the "Coba Express" tour with cozumel-toursdotcom or playa del carmen tours? They advertise it as being suitable as a cruise excursion. I'd rather do it from the cruise line (carnival) but they don't currently offer a coba option, although they do have a Chichen Itza tour even though its farther away. We're in port from 8-5. Are there any other companies that do tours to Coba that would be short enough? All the other options that I found combined it with some other stops and would take too long. loanshark Posted January 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Coba is best to do if doing a land-based vacation. (i.e. staying at one of the resorts in Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, or even from Cancun). Even if you could find some way to get there, I would think you would only be able to spend an hour or two at the most before you had to return in order to make it back to the ship in time. Use Google maps as seen here... (https://www.google.com/maps/place/20%C2%B029'41.0%22N+87%C2%B044'10.0%22W/@20.4741028,-87.6569688,59011m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d20.494722!4d-87.736111?hl=en) ... You literally have to go past the Tulum ruins, then go another 40 minutes or so on Hwy 109 to get there, meaning it is at least 3 hours each direction, or 6 hours round-trip.
