  1. The Saints wont be playing in the Superdome that Sunday. Taylor Swift is already booked for the Superdome Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights Oct 25-27. It's possible, but unlikely the Saints will host the Thursday or Monday night games that week. Most likely, they will have a road game or their bye week that weekend.
  2. 15 cruises total... Cruise #1 - missed Key West Cruise #8 - rerouted to Bahamas instead of W Caribbean due to a hurricane Cruise #11 - Missed Grand Turk Cruise #14 - Missed Grand Turk Still have not visited Grand Turk yet... maybe third try will be the charm.
  3. This is legit... as long as they have a bill of sale that shows they purchased the vehicle within the last 10 days.
  4. Once you get to the terminal..... if looking at Google maps, there is a convenience store called "Cruise Plaza Grocery" and a liquor store right next to it located at the corner of 19th Street and Harborside Dr. It is a 10 min walk from Terminal 25, or a 15 minute walk from Terminal 28.... This would be your best bet to get wine after your flight / before your cruise if arriving day of.
  5. Note - If you are arriving on a Sunday, Texas doesn't allow wine to be sold before 10:00 am on Sundays. In addition, liquor stores are closed.
  6. The casino opens about 2-3 hours after sail away.
  7. I would assume that this includes a ride only within the hotel's local area, and Hilton's uses this standard language for this particular package code for all hotels near an airport or cruiseport that wants to offer a parking and shuttle package. I would also assume that the hotels near one of the Houston airports will shuttle you only to the airport, and the hotels on Galveston Island will shuttle you only to the cruise port if you book using this package/rate code. I very seriously doubt that any of the hotels in the Houston and Galveston areas will shuttle you to both... or your choice of the airport or cruiseport. This is due to the fact that the distance from Hobby Airport to Galveston is approximately 40 miles and from Bush to Galveston is approximately 70 miles.
  8. Saturday May 25 - That is Memorial Day weekend. Hotels on the island will be very expensive. As far as planning a stay at one of the airport hotels, I am looking at a similar situation for an October cruise, and will probably stay around the airport... just making sure that whatever hotel I end up picking has an airport shuttle and a decent restaurant for dinner, then plan on taking an uber directly from the hotel to the ship the next day. No need to take the hotel shuttle back to the airport in the morning just to catch an uber to the ship.
  9. Log into the EZ Air section of your current booking and do a mock "change of flights"... If you see the same flights available with a +$0 cost, then the air fare is currently the same as your original booking. Even if you see a "+ $10 or $20 p/p", you would still save money by cancelling your booking entirely, saving the $500 on the cruise, and spending $20 or $40 extra on the air than the price you originally booked.
  10. Looks like the Fulton garage has parking for $18 per day for non-cruise passengers plus a $5 service fee, or $23 total available through neworleansparking dot com
  11. Actually, in cases of business travel where a corporation has paid for their employee's, visitor's, contractor's, etc... it is the person staying in the room, and not the entity that paid for the room who gets the credit. That being said, your argument doesn't hold much water when comparing to a cruise line or an airline who awards miles or points based on whose butt is in the seat versus who paid for the seat or berth.
  12. other than renting a car or catching one of the 2 greyhound busses per day, uber or lyft will be the cheapest option.
  13. Holiday Inns typically have a restaurant and either charges for breakfast as they normally have a restaurant with menus or they allow you to book at a package rate that includes breakfast if you book on the hotel's or IHG website. Holiday Inn Express includes a basic breakfast with the standard items setup in a breakfast room. There is generally prepackaged items (yogurts, pasties, etc...), cereals, cinnamon rolls, a tray with one meat item, and a tray with either scrambled eggs or some egg based disc that looks like a frozen omelet that was heated up in a microwave.
  14. Note - this is not a recommended route if you are travelling with luggage, as it would be much easier to use uber or lyft.
  15. It will cost a few dollars, but you can catch the 120 bus in South Beach on Washington Ave at 13th St, 9th St or 5th St. It will go from South Beach to downtown, eventually ending at the "Government Center" metrorail stop. From there, you’ll be able to walk to the Coral Way Trolley, which will take you to the port. To get to the trolley, walk East (go under the metrorail tracks) approximately 1/2 block to SW 1st Ave. Turn right and go South, crossing Flagler Ave, then make a right turn onto SW 1st St. Go up the street under the metrorail tracks again, and you will see the benches for the trolley stop on the left.
  16. Alamo closed their location on Eller Drive, which is where the shuttle used to go to and from.
  17. Most likely, the tickets you paid for were at a "tour" or "bulk" fare rate, that is much more restrictive than regular tickets once the tickets have been paid for. From a ticketing perspective the flights are considered "booked" or "reserved" when you pick the specific flights, but become "ticketed" when you actually pay for them. Most likely, there is a fare rule associated with the fare stating a change fee applies for any changes after being ticketed.
  18. Budget and Avis share the same shuttles in downtown Miami. Use the dropoff location code "P2F" if booking on the Budget website for the correct location.
  19. Carnival carries ESPN's Caribbean feed. Unfortunately, the Caribbean version of ESPN does not carry anything close to the amount of college football that that is available on the US feed. Consequently, it's possible to have a cricket or soccer match going on at the same time as the college football game you are trying to watch, and Carnival's feed from ESPN will show this.
  20. Yes... you have to be a paid member to access the discounted cruise gift cards.
  21. We have only used Budget's downtown location to go to Miami / to the ship. We have always used the airport location on the return as I previously learned from this board that there sometimes is a problem with lack of vehicles being available after a cruise at the downtown location. For our upcoming January cruise, although the car rental reserved going to Miami was the same price for an airport return, or a downtown return, the car going from Miami after the cruise was $60 cheaper from the airport location anyway.... Both directions were reserved from Budget. We had no problems on the last cruise we did from Miami this way (drop off before the cruise at Budget downtown/use their shuttle to the ship, used a cab from the ship to the airport on debarkation day, then pick up a one-way car rental return at the airport.
  22. The closest Alamo and National locations are at the airport. Alamo and National used to shuttle you from their airport location pre-covid, but I have heard the shuttle from there has been discontinued since covid. Thrifty also used to shuttle to and from their airport location, not sure if they are still continuing or not. Avis, Budget and Hertz are from the downtown locations. For what it's worth, I recently confirmed a one-way rental with Budget to the "Port of Miami" location on the Budget website for an upcoming cruise in January. In the drop off field, you can type "P2F" to pull up this location for drop-offs. Also, on the booking confirmation, you can see that the "Port of Miami" location is the same address they use as their Miami Downtown location on 2nd Street.
