Wondering if anyone here knows when Freedom of the Seas will be re-positioning to San Juan? Hoping for better reviews once she has moved on to San Juan for the Southern Itinerary. DW and I will be on her on July 7th for a 50th birthday/25th-anniversary cruise. Getting a little apprehensive about sailing on her after reading some of these reviews. :(

I would not worry too much about what is written in a review. It seems when someone has something negative to say about a ship/cruise someone else will comment just the opposite. It seems like a lot of people who like to complain are the ones writing these reviews. You don't see a lot of good news stories, but there are a lot of happy cruisers who keep their comments to themselves.

I'm super new to the Royal Caribbean line. We've done most of our cruising on Carnival. The price for the Freedom 5/12 out of San Juan was good enough that we jumped up to RC. Anyway, what are the negatives that people have to say about this ship?

Too many passengers.

Same stuff they complain about on every ship; bad food, rude employees, not enough bartenders, blah blah blah.

I survived a Costa Mediterranean cruise. I know rude crew and horrible food. Nothing can be as bad as Costa except maybe MSC.

We took a cruise on MSC last spring, and it was honestly one of our best. The price for a balcony cabin with beverage package made it one of the most economical we have ever taken. The Divina was a beautiful ship, we didn't meet a single staff member who was not ready and eager to assist, our cabin was a nice size and kept spotlessly clean (not an easy feat with our group!), and the food was among the best we have had at sea. I guess we each have our own unique experiences, and that is why I tend not to put much stock in reviews!

I just got off Freedom Jan 14 and found her in great shape, thought the food was excellent. I guess if you look hard enough you could find something wrong.

Exactly. I have only done Costa. I'm a TA and my agency won't even sell MSC to our clients. I'm scared to even try it despite the good price point.
