Two Wheels Only Posted March 6, 2018 #201 Share Posted March 6, 2018 A little over $13k for the cheapest Haven cabin for 3 people  Is that for the Transatlantic? I haven't bothered to call for info/prices. I don't even know when I'll be able to sail, yet.

Nope - just a regular 7-day eastern Caribbean itinerary.

FellowCollector Posted March 6, 2018 #204 Share Posted March 6, 2018 I agree about the San Juan times, but hopefully there will be new shorex for night time (beyond luminescent kayaking). We'll still book once but would have booked multiple dates if it was daytime. I have a call in to my PCC, but he doesn't come in until 11 AM EST. I'd like to know the specials available (such as pick 2, etc.) Those times in San Juan suck. I've been to both of the other places plenty of times (even vacationing on the actual islands), so San Juan is the only one I'm excited about. rtkenmore Posted March 6, 2018 #205 Share Posted March 6, 2018 Got mine on a courtesy hold just to be sure the people who want to go area good with the prices. Called the Casino Reservation line to take advantage of the Total Rewards discount. Oceanview for Thanksgiving starts at $1349; Balcony starts at $1449; Spa Balcony starts at $1819. All other info shared here as far as the deck plans and itinerary are correct as well. Who am I going to see for Thanksgiving???

timf2001 Posted March 6, 2018 #207 Share Posted March 6, 2018 We booked, but I'm wondering if the cabin categories are going to stay as they are right now. We booked our standard cabin, which on Escape is category BE. On Encore it's coming up as BA. Those deck plans have upped the categories of many of the balcony cabins, jacking up the prices. The deck plans they have posted so far are nearly identical to Norwegian Bliss. Yes, there are fewer rooms in the lesser categories since the categories take a single step up at Deck 11 rather than taking two steps at Decks 12 and 14, and they moved the definition of "Mid-Ship" farther forward and aft. Somebody else reported that for a 7-day cruise the cheapest Haven was over 13K for three people. NCL knows that they will not be able to sell too many Haven rooms at that price, but that they will at least get some of the money back through the upgrade process. dolls123 Posted March 6, 2018 #214 Share Posted March 6, 2018 That's what I thought...was afraid of . Hubby was right. Prices are higher than the Bliss and less days. I’ll be watching to see if the Haven prices drop
gatorchinsky Posted March 6, 2018 #215 Share Posted March 6, 2018 The prices for Thanksgiving seem very high. We booked the Bliss when bookings first started for this Thanksgiving and the prices were good. I might just have to see if prices go down or I’ll book another ship. dhatch88 Posted March 6, 2018 #216 Share Posted March 6, 2018 Anybody from the UK managed to book? Or just in the US? I have called twice to book the transatlantic and been told booking isn't open at all yet - and I'm a latitudes member too.

david_sobe Posted March 6, 2018 #218 Share Posted March 6, 2018 Congratulations on everyone booking. But some of those prices are high even for NCL. They will come down a little I believe. There is no way a $1600 pp balcony price will hold up in the crowded Miami cruise market. I hope no one paid in full because "some" prices will come down. And yet RCCL is currently selling Ocean View balconies on Symphony of the Seas for $1599 and Boardwalk View balconies for $1499 the same week of Thanksgiving. Balconies started at $1449 for the week of Thanksgiving on Encore btw.

Even if someone paid in full, you can still get your price adjusted prior to final payment. It's doubtful anyone actually pays in full for a cruise over a year + away

Almost 18 months till final payment would be due on the Thanksgiving cruise and you can get it adjusted up until that time.

Looking at 2019 when it goes head to head with Encore, the prices are in line with other weeks and balconies start below $1000. You'll always pay a premium for a brand new ship, but Encore seems a bit excessive especially considering this is the final ship in its class, a near clone of Bliss, and is running an unexceptional itinerary. I'm not looking at Symphony prices this year; I'm looking at next year for the same exact week as Encore. Apples to apples. A room on Deck 14 of Symphony comparable to the same location I just booked on Encore would be $1613/person before taxes/fees/etc. and before the current 30% discount that RCCL is running. That fare does not include unlimited beverages or a dining package nor does it include spa access. Even with the 30% discount that RCCL is running, it's still $1270 WITH taxes/fees/etc. and NO beverage package, no dining package, no spa package. By the time you add all of that, you're essentially matching the same price as Encore.

We booked Thanksgiving week, but I fully expect it to drop, and we will then adjust. If it doesn't, plenty of other ships sailing that week.
