L&J Posted February 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2018 We're considering the Zip-and-Dip tour through Victor Bodden's Monkey Business. I want to ensure there will be enough time to interact with the monkey's and sloth's (or I'd consider skipping the zip if needed). Is there a long line or crowd of people waiting to hold a sloth? Or do small groups get escorted by a guide? How many sloths are there? I just don't want to be rushed to the vans after ziplining to head to the beach without some proper time here for a cool animal interaction. To anyone who has done this zipline -- is it worth it or pretty small? Judging by the price, it's less elaborate than others in the Caribbean and more of a small quick zipline. Thanks. Rare TravelE Posted February 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2018 I would also love to hear feedback on the sloth interaction and wait times. Also we have done the South Shore Zip line. How does it compare to Victor's?
grantbob Posted February 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2018 When we were there two years ago we had booked a private tour/driver for the day with Bodden. We were given a guide at the sloth/monkeys and it was not crowded at all. There were really no wait times.
Rare crewsweeper Posted February 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2018 grantbob, Did Victor's place have sloths? I know he has monkeys and others. We've been to his place a couple of times, although not in recent years. Been there done that. But as far as I am aware. Daniel Johnson's place is the only place with sloths. Victor and other tour providers do go there.
grantbob Posted February 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2018 grantbob, Did Victor's place have sloths? No. They had something else that was similar but I don't remember what it was called.

grantbob Posted February 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2018 Anteater? No. Definitely had too short a nose for that. :D They had a sloths energy level and disposition, but were shorthaired like a dog.
mgrieger Posted February 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 6, 2018 Several TripAdvisor reviews (quite recent) of Bodden Tours/Monkey Business do mention sloths... Guess I am under the impression there are. Will be there next week, so we'll see.
grantbob Posted February 6, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2018 Our visit was 2016 so who knows what is different now. I did a quick google image search and this is what we saw:
TxLnghrnz Posted February 6, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 6, 2018 (edited) Victor had 5 sloths when we were there last month... So COOL -- a great new addition (completely different activity level vs. the white-faced monkeys, for sure!) ++Edited post... just checked, there are images on his FB page of the sloths! nascargirly Posted February 17, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 17, 2018 Can anyone tell if either Victor Bodden or Daniel Johnson would be best?
Markmom18 Posted February 20, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 20, 2018 We're sailing Saturday. We also would like to see a sloth. But, I got to thinking.....are the same 5 sloths being held by strangers all day? Sure,us Cruisers see them. But, also the land tourists & locals too! This seems like it could be a handling overload for these guys. Bobbi
Rare crewsweeper Posted February 21, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 21, 2018 (edited) Our visit was 2016 so who knows what is different now. I did a quick google image search and this is what we saw: I don't think that is a sloth. Sloths are either 2 toed or 3 toed. This creature has 5 toes. And a long tail. There's a species of anteaters in Central America that don't have the long snouts and do look like this critter. Snuckles Posted February 24, 2018 #15 Share Posted February 24, 2018 Went a couple of days ago to Victor's. There were sloths however we got there around 3:30 or so and the sloths were all tired. We did not get an opportunity to hold one however the kids touched one. Most of the sloths were resting, which we totally respected. Was cool to see them. Just know that you need to go early in the day if you want to hold them.
