tom_uk Posted February 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Just a quick question about this. Which airline is providing the flights for Oceana’s winter programme in the Arabian Gulf? Is it one of the regional airlines (e.g. Emirates) or is it one of the U.K. charter companies, e.g. Thomas Cook? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to book one of these cruises on a ‘cruise only’ basis at a lower price?
mandylennon Posted February 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2018 This is a new cruise for P&O therefore nobody has done it yet. You can get a cruise only price from P&O but only they can tell you how much, if any, you will save. The flights will probably be chartered solely for the cruise. alexoneblack Posted February 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2018 I think that they said it would be Emirates.
tom_uk Posted February 6, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted February 6, 2018 Thanks for the replies. This is what comes of living with my head in the brochure - I'd lost sight of the fact that Oceana's Arabian Gulf programmes isn't until next year! But if it is Emirates (and that's the obvious choice), that's good news. I've flown from Manchester to Singapore via Dubai with Emirates, and I liked the A380 flight - there seemed to be a bit more legroom, the seats were comfortable, the meals were good, and I thought it was quieter than a 777. grush240 Posted February 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2018 Just booked Soton to Dubai for 2019 and I'm "told" the return flight to Brum will be emirates. Kev
Elviex Posted February 6, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2018 We are booked on a March cruise Dubai to Malta. Our cruise personaliser already shows the flight out is Emirates, return with TUI. My cruise specialist at P&O knows we want to fly out with BA ahead of the cruise and spend more time in Dubai. Shelley advised me to call her in April this year to confirm the arrangements. Not too fussed about a reasonably short haul on TUI. Sent from my iPad using Forums
molecrochip Posted February 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Flights are due to be scheduled Emirates flights rather than chartered. Thomson and Thomas Cook are still providing the Caribbean chartered service.

janieb1962 Posted February 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 12, 2018 Our flights for the Gulf fly cruise in Feb 2019 are showing as with Emirates. On cruise personalised. Looks like you have to collect your luggage so assume that it’s scheduled rather than fully chartered. It’s the A380 which we have flown in business and economy class and enjoyed both .
