Service Reward Programme.with P&O TIPS

I see P&O have just put their Service Reward Programme TIPS to you and me up to £7 per person per day although its not compulsory its a lot of money if you do it; and I suspect it is used to supplement the hotel crews wages. I think they should pay the staff a decent living wage so they do not need tips and P&O and other lines can get rid of this practice.. What do others think?

It's now fairly usual across all lines, and at least the tips are less than on a USA managed line, and no tipping on drinks.

Fred Olsen's tips are going up from £4 to £5 as well... Both lines charge only pub prices for drinks, which is a help...
