khuselid Posted February 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Hi all, We will be on a cruise that overnights in Monte Carlo for 3 nights. Would love suggestions for places we can reach from here. Maybe take a train somewhere overnight? Love to hear favorite places that are fairly easy travel distance from Monte Carlo. Thank you! angeleyes27 Posted February 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2018 We were there a couple years ago. We went to Eze which was very cute. Also Cannes and Nice. We took a Viator tour but I think you can use public transportation too Sent from my iPhone using Forums

You can train west to Nice and Cannes, or you can train east to Menton. I would not bother staying elsewhere for a night. Use your ship in Monte Carlo as your base. If you really want to get away from the ship, stay in Nice for a night.
Rare Hlitner Posted February 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2018 You have lots of options. You can head east (via train) and visit Menton which is a nice seaside town. Heading west you have loads of options, nearly all of which can be done DIY. Eze Village (already mentioned) is a quaint (and very touristy) small walled town worthy of a few hours just shopping, browsing, and eating. Keep going West and you come to Nice (it really is nice) which is a pretty large city with a great Flower Market (good to go in the morning), some nice museums, a small old town, etc. And then there is one of our favorite towns of St Paul de Vence. You also can visit Antibes (easy to get there on the train), Grasse, etc etc. We have spent weeks in this part of France and never got bored :).
