Any issues with noise in this cabin?

We've been assigned cabin 7058 on the Brilliance for the second part of a B2B in May, and noticed it's right above the Pub. Has anyone experienced any noise issues being above the pub on that class of ship? I tried a search, but couldn't find anything about noise specific to rooms above the Pub.

Thanks for any info you can provide. :)

Actually, you are on the other side from the Pub. (according to the deck plans) It's over the hallway entrance to the little movie theater.

So the pub is only on the starboard side, not the port side? If so, that's great then! :)

Carol, if you are using the RCI cruise book for deck plans Deck 6 and 7 are not to the same scale. Deck 6 is to a smaller scale as it shows more of the ship since it includes the bow section which deck 7 doesn't have on its plan. This moves Deck 6 further back than deck 7. You can see the difference with the front elevators location on each deck.

Below is a screen shot were I have transposed deck 7 over deck 6 on Serenade using the German online agency we on CC typically use to check cabin availability. All decks on this site's Serenade deck plan are to the same scale and as you can see cabin 7058 is over the middle of the pub below.

Regards

Actually, I was using an agency website that I'm not allowed to name. ;)

But IME, there is a "quiet" side and a "noisy" side. 7058 is on the "quiet" side. The microphone and speakers are on the starboard side. The bar is on the starboard side. The noisiest patrons are on the starboard side. ;)

Actually Carol the video linked to below shows the bar and DJ platform with speakers of the Crown and Castle Pub on Serenade is in the middle of the ship. On the starboard side is the main corridor between the Tropical Theater and Casino Royal which does have a few overflow tables but typically is a quite area as it is separated from the Crown & Castle by a wall and main entrance doors to that pub.

The dart board is on the port side, approximately where cabin 7058 is above and I've seen some rowdy/noisy games of pub darts there. We had a cabin right over the pub on one of my early cruises on RCI and I certainly won't be doing that again if I can avoid it. It was extremely noisy well into the night. ;p

Ok... it seems that there is likely to be some noise in that cabin from the Pub below. In that case... given the choice, would you folks go with 7058 or 7086?

If minimal sound is important, I'd go with 7058. The other one is closer to the centrum and you can get some loud music from the centrum from time to time.

Ok sounds good - being that it's likely to be an older crowd, and it's not a "Caribbean cruise party atmosphere" type of itinerary, I'm inclined to think the noise should be pretty minimal from the pub... I hope! LOL!

Aren't there any deck 8 or 9 staterooms that you could choose?

There are some rooms still available on those decks, and 9 is where were assigned for the first leg of this B2B, but as I understand it, I can only switch to another room in the exact same category as the gty assignment... the 9th floor room is a 2B, and the 7th floor room is a 2D... so can't switch except to the other 2D rooms, of which there are only 3 avail, including the 7086, and two others that are adjoining rooms to someone else. Not keen on adjoining rooms.

OK, you're correct, you can only switch (without paying more money) to the same exact category to which you have been assigned.
