soulbait Posted February 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2018 My wife and I are going on a cruise with some friends next week on the Jade. We got the free dining plan deal when booking. We are wanting to eat at the Japanese steak house on the ship on the first night. Our friends went ahead and booked this online, and had to pay ahead. Will we be able to credit these using our dining plan once on board? Or should we call NCL and change the reservation to make sure it is using our dining credits? It seems like NCL's website does not work well with the free promotions, because it looks like from what I have read on here that I will need to call them to rebook my shore excursion to be able to have those credits applied there as well. Thank you for any advise you can give. This is our first time on NCL (6 previous cruises on Royal).
macandlucy Posted February 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Could your friends call and cancel the reservation (for four) and get a refund? Then you (with the dining package) make a reservation for four? Because you have the dining package for two, you should only be charged for two of the four. You could also call and see if they can make the adjustment, maybe they can, but in that case, since your friends paid for the reservation they might have to make the call. If someone has a dining package then the system assumes that everyone they are booking for has it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rare KeithJenner Posted February 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2018 The amount already paid online should be refunded on board, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that caused some problems in doing so though. Calling and cancelling would also potentially be a bit of a pain, and there is the risk of replacement reservations not being available. Personally I would probably leave it and speak to someone onboard about getting the cost refunded. Yes, it is a bit of a pain. Now most places are a la carte I wish they would just stop charging for these reservations now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PinkPineapple111 Posted February 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2018 I would recommend cancelling/rebooking or calling ahead of time to get it straightened out, the customer service desk onboard will be swamped the first day! Not the best use of vacation time!
