gracef Posted March 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2018 We are going to be on the Jades March 23rd sailing. We have connecting cabins where the door opens inside the rooms but does anyone know if you can open the door that separates the balconies? They have locked them on other boats and we have managed to open them with a little tool we bring from home. Sometimes the room steward will open them and sometimes not. On the newer ships it's like they are welded shut with NO possibility of opening. I know the Jade is an older ship so we were hoping we can open this door since we have 6 people and can't all fit on one baconly. We love sitting together. Rare BirdTravels Posted March 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2018 It is against fire safety policies to open balcony dividers. That being said, if you ask your room steward nicely, they may open it for you. While in port, the crew sometimes opens all the dividers to wash down the balconies. When they are done, the close all the doors and you have to go back to your room steward to get it reopened.

Serendipitously I don't have any friends... so it's never been a problem :D
