SouthLyonCruiser Posted March 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2018 I hate the hot stuffy cruise line shuttles and have been using cabs for the past few years with the exception of LAX. Trying to find a definite cab cost on line is about as easy as getting a Have suite for the price of an inside. Any help would be appreciated. Rare Keith1010 Posted March 7, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2018 I too would check the West Coast Departures Board. With that said I would go with Uber instead of a cab. Keith
jarett Posted March 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2018 Uber. 100%. Done it for $30-$35 Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rosedust Posted March 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2018 I haven't done LAX to the port, but I have done LAX to Hollywood multiple times (which is a slightly shorter journey but worse traffic) and that's $60-$70. Much better if you can get an Uber/shuttle!
jenniferandwhatnot Posted March 7, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2018 I've taken a cab home from the Long Beach port to my house which is fairly close to the airport (6 miles), and it was right about $90. Uber is usually cheaper than cabs.
Captain Canuck Posted March 7, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2018 vote for Uber...stayed at a hotel close to the port with a free shuttle..but got there by Uber and got to airport from port by uber...cleaner than any cab I have ever been in...love that the amount of the trip is predetermined. jenniferandwhatnot Posted March 7, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2018 Also wanted to mention, should you choose to Uber to the cruise port: at LAX when you arrive and have collected your luggage, you will have to make your way to the upper level (departures level), as that is where the ride-share pickup spots are located. They are big signs with letters on them, the app will ask you to indicate which letter you are standing near so that your driver will know where to pick you up.
