barefootscribe Posted December 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2005 My extended family (9 people total) will be staying in FLL the night before we sail. We don't know the area and we will be driving into town. Any suggestions on reasonable places to stay? I heard good things about the Amerisuites and Extended Stay on 17th, are these hotels very close to the pier? Can we park there while we cruise and if so, what's the charge? Thanks as always for any advice or experiences!
doone Posted December 28, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2005 If you decide on the Amerisuites, be sure to check out http://www.valuetrips.com. This web site is wonderful and the discount you receive when booking through them for the Amerisuites is huge. I haven't stayed there so I am not sure of the parking or even the hotel, but if you choose to stay there, its a great site to book your reservation. TrentS Posted January 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2006 AmeriSuites is the only hotel you can leave your car at while you cruise, but your car is MUCH safer in the covered parking garages at the port. AmeriSuites and Extended Stay America as well as Holiday Inn Express "Convention Center" are all located just outside the entrance to Port Everglades. Extended Stay America and Holiday Inn Express are nicer than AmeriSuites. These are the SE 17th Street hotels (closest to Port Everglades and FLL)... BlueHerons Posted January 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2006 When in October? Check the dates for the FLL Int'l Boat Show usually last weekend or second to last weekend in October.
