Vista Dinner Questions - Specialty Dining

Hello! We are cruising the Vista on April 1, and I have 2 questions re: specialty dining. "We" consists of DH, DD 14 and DD11. DD14 and I are foodies - love to try new foods, can't wait for sushi and other offerings. DH and DD11 are much, much more basic. So in thinking of specialty restaurants, we are considering splitting up - dining at different places one night while in port. My questions:

 

1. DD14 will be fine in the steakhouse, correct? She is mature, loves long dinners and great restaurants. No worries here, right? I think she'll be charged as an adult (?), but am fine with that.

 

2. DD11 loves sweet and sour chicken, not shrimp... Is the menu able to be adjusted? She and DH will be content with white rice, and simple chicken. He loves spicy food, so JiJi's was on his list of things he wanted to do.

 

Thanks for any thoughts! Can't WAIT!!

I can't tell you about substitutions at JiJi's because I've never been, but pure speculation says it makes sense that they'd substitute something so straightforward... I'll let someone more familiar with that restaurant weigh in.

 

As for the steakhouse, I've seen people bring toddlers in, so your daughter is more than welcome. And as you describe her, not only will she love it, but people around you will love her being there too (the toddler? not so much!). And yes, at 14 she'll be charged as an adult.

I brought my kids to the Vista's steakhouse on our last cruise. They were 7 & 11 at the time. They were both fine and and they both loved it. Your 14 year old will be charged as an adult, but she'll be fine there. Enjoy!
