It´s been many years I´ve done this, but it wasn´t complicated at all. I vaguely remember I used a fax form, but my memory might fail on that one. Anyway it was easy to do and I definitely did not call about it, I did it either online or via fax.

Very easy to buy items for folks sailing even if you don't know their booking number. Just call. All they need is the person's name, ship name and date and they can look up the rest. If there are several people with the same last name on the ship they might ask you the name of the other person sailing. They won't tell you cabin number (privacy issue), but the order process is easy.
