beachbum53 Posted March 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2018 Red Alert! When you're on "Manage My Booking", check to make sure your VIFP number is correct. To do this, on the page where it says "My Cruise Manager", click on your name. It will be in the blue bar up on the right-hand side. Then, when the next page comes up, you will see "My Profile". Along with checking to make sure all information is correct (name, date of birth, etc.), make sure it shows the correct VIFP number. While you're on that page, click on "My Cruises" in the left-hand column. The next page that comes up will show (if it's correct) your VIFP points and total cruises. I discovered today that the VIFP number shown for me is incorrect, and that I have "0" VIFP points and "0" cruises. I called my PVP. She said that several people have called with the same problem. I e-mailed her a screen shot of what is currently showing, and she said she'd forward it to the department that fixes that. Hopefully by tomorrow it will be corrected. emm126 Posted March 29, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2018 I agree- it happened to me- I realized I didn't get credit for my February cruise on the Pride. I called when I had the chance and I was told it was because I changed my name from my 1st name/Last name to 1st/middle/last name either on my November or August cruise. I didn't change anything, on one of the cruises I noticed my middle name on my S&S card but didn't think anything of it. She was able to fix over the phone and the Pride cruise showed up when I looked the next day!
MICMAN Posted March 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2018 I noticed yesterday in an email from Carnival for a 20% spa discount that VIFP number and status was wrong.

I think that this may have something to do with a change driven by the requirement from the government that Carnival must provide middle names on the passenger lists. There were some situations, mine happened on this past January's cruise, where a new VIFP number got created for me with my middle name on it because my original number did not have my middle name. So the January cruise went on the new VIFP number , not the one that has been used for many, many years. My PVP cleaned it up quickly.

There are lots of people that don't have a middle name. My wife doesn't. And what about those that have more than one middle name? Which one are they supposed to provide? No. I think the only thing that matters is the name you give Carnival matches whatever is on your passport or photo i.d. (such as driver's license). saraandnick Posted March 30, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Mine is showing red but my sailing in two days will put my family to Gold. Will our cards be gold when we get on the ship? I know, it’s a little thing in the scheme of things. Just wondering. So excited to be sailing on Saturday! RWolver672 Posted March 30, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Yes, you will be Gold from the start if you reach that level during your cruise.

winddawn Posted March 30, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 30, 2018 I think this happened because Carnival is getting ready to launch changes to the VIFP program, and they're in the process of updating the VIFP webpages for that. I noticed where I look at "my cruises," it now shows a VIFP point breakdown with cruise day points and VIFP points. I don't remember this ever showing a breakdown like that in the past. Why show a breakdown like that if it isn't meaningful? I think this is related to impending changes in the VIFP program. It's probably a good idea for all of us to print out our cruise history in case Carnival loses any information while they're making their updates. JMHO. I thought that this breakdown shows the difference between paid for cruises and free cruises that you may have been on. Free cruises do not count for VIFP points and are not counted towards toward your status. But it is always good to hear conspiracy theories. I have never had my middle name in my Carnival information until that January cruise but have always had my middle name on passport and driver's license. I did not put it on that cruise. It might have been picked up with a change to the process of getting picture and info from the passport. I do not know, but I do know what my PVP told me and what she had to do to get my account back in order.
pe4all Posted March 30, 2018 #15 Share Posted March 30, 2018 I had to contact Guest Solutions twice recently - once for my January Glory cruise and once for my February Conquest cruise. These would have been cruise # 22 and #23 for me. After 3 weeks my Glory cruise still was not put up on my cruise history, while my dd - who cruised with me - had hers up 3 days after we debarked. To make that worse, I was getting email promos stating I was a red card status! It was finally discovered that for some reason I was issued a different VIFP # - on my 22nd cruise. I always book with the same pvp, so I know it wasn't an error there. They got it straightened out, then the same exact thing happened on my Conquest cruise. They fixed that, also. Kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, though.
summersigh Posted March 30, 2018 #16 Share Posted March 30, 2018 From another thread today about VIFP is sounds like loyalty levels are being adjusted with no points being awarded for "free cruises" that the people have taken. We paid for all 4 of ours and the points are correct so I'm just passing on their observations. I imagine enough "free cruises" (like casino cruises) might change some folks level. HawkIVette Posted March 30, 2018 #17 Share Posted March 30, 2018 II notice where I look at "my cruises," it now shows a VIFP point breakdown with cruise day points and VIFP points. I don't remember this ever showing a breakdown like that in the past. MHO. Mone has shown VIFP points & cruise days both for some time now. Last couple of years that I have noticed. Also, I have done 3 free casino cruises so far out of 20 cruises and all have counted towards VIFP points. Might he brcausrbwr have paid for upgrades from the free interior cabins offered to upper level interiors or balconies.
USNUZULOOSE Posted March 30, 2018 #18 Share Posted March 30, 2018 I did that and I don't even have any cruise offers. What a shame, I have been on 3 cruises and I don't count for anything...
