ColinIllinois Posted March 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Hi.We are booking a NCL cruise in september, but are wondering about the best place to book from. Booking direct from Ncl is more expensive than other sites. I've looked at Expedia, is that an ok place too book a cruise from? We live in Norway, so Im not sure we can book from all the same travel agencys/sites like US costumers.. I prefer when the total price includes all taxes and gratitues. Thank you! Rules of this forum prohibit people from recommending travel agencies. Sorry.

ColinIllinois Posted March 30, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Oh, sorry, I'll remove the thread. Thanks. There are lots of people though who know lots of information about booking through the European NCL office if you want to ask about that.
Driberif1 Posted March 30, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Our first couple cruises we booked were through travel sites and it turned out by the end it was not worth it. NCL has the price match and although a travel agent can rebook etc. to get new lower price it seemed to be a lot more work doing that. The last 4 or 5 cruises we booked straight through NCL and it has made it very simple and even after the price match gets voided as the cruise gets closer they still have worked with us and provided onboard credit etc. to make up for it. floridian1 Posted March 30, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 30, 2018 There are a lot of different travel agencies out there some will even give you additional onboard credit when you book with them I personally find it worth shopping around. The travel agency I booked with this time had lower rates than NCL and Costco plus they gave me onboard credit I'm not sure how they were able to do it. However in the event of an emergency it does take them awhile to respond to me I guess that's the trade-off. Like a previous poster said though it's against rules to mention specific travel agents
poohdreaming Posted March 30, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 30, 2018 We cannot mention specific vendors or list travel agents. For me, I booked my first cruise through NCL and then my second cruise, I did not use NCL but a third party site. I used a site through my credit card. I would get like cash back rewards for paying through this travel agent site and then would receive the rest after the cruise was over. This was the only addition and other things were same on NCL site.

Try that site famous for the "garden gnome". Cannot mention it here but Google is your friend. We have found some great deals on there lately. Son of a son of a ... Posted March 30, 2018 #11 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Travelocity. I found airlines give great perks ... AA
don't-use-real-name Posted March 31, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 31, 2018 XXXXXXXXXI found airlines give great perks ... AA I do my cruise bookings thru an airline affiliated agency. Always with the same agent - best of service - always knows what my needs and wants are. The overall benefit - booking at the same rate as NCL.com getting the same selection of cabins and all the promos perks and bennies that go with that category. AND the best part is the extras provided by the agency: Extra time to make payments - low down payments - purchase insurance - OBC in addition to the NCL perk - and miles worth $0.35 a mile frequently tripled minimum 3000 miles x 3 = $300 + and in conjunction with the airline affiliated credit card more miles substantially reducing the cost of airfare to the boarding port city. Most TAs have the ability to place a hold on a cabin while details are worked out with I.E. B2B cabins - coordination with travel companions and need for space 1 or more cabins. Have a direct phone line to NCL bypassing the not so NCL amusing music interrupted by - did you know - sorry to keep you waiting we know your time is important to - calls will be answered in order received - yada yada yada. Browse the NCL site - perhaps use the services of PCC but don't stop there - go further online and search out other TAs cruise companies - Google Yahoo or whatever is your preference - BROWSE AND PLAY THE GAME finding the best bang for the buck and deal that is going to make your travel money well spent. Specific websites (LINKS) and TAs can't be named but you can Google search for these in your area. Without specifically naming one hint think of an automobile club - Big Box retailer with inhouse travel service - You get a newspaper or watch TV - ads pop up check them out - You are in a city and you perhaps drive by one - Out in the rural country - sometimes junk ads in the mail maybe your source and the TV too. NCL may have a monopoly on the cruises but NOT on the ways to book those cruises. Also remember that if you find a better deal on another cruise line take the fork in the road - IT'S YOUR MONEY ! Loyalty only goes so far with FEEE - STYLE cruising - not all FEES are the same.
