Is that "guarantee" rate? If so, you could receive ANY balcony ANYWHERE on the ship.

Sounds like a Balcony Guarantee to me. That would mean they assign you the room closer to sailing time. I suppose it would be possible to get a cove, but should be very unlikely.

You could be assigned any unsold balcony on the ship.

Not at all! Maybe a little spray when we got in a bit of rough water in Roatan but really not that bad. And if you get one under the lifeboats that even better, you can sit out there all day and not get burned! They are also a bit more private than the regular balconies.
