Tax on beverages while in port

I know that when you purchase a beverage package and you get drinks while still in your embarcation port you pay tax on those drinks (on most lines). If the beverages are included in your cruise fair (Yacht Club) do you still pay the tax? Seaside dosent leave port utill 7pm. Getting on at around noon ish could add up to a hefty tax bill for 4. Just curious.

Just off Seaside..... Although I was in YC and they did not scan your card for drinks in YC bars.....I did order several drinks in Atrium bar and Casino bar on embarkation day and when I signed screen...it said .00.... I had no tax charged on any drinks that day

Does this apply to those outside of the YC who have the deluxe package? My mom thought she paid tax on the Divina last time we sailed while in Miami, I however thought we didn't but I really don't recall. Any current cruisers able to comment if they paid any sales tax while in Miami?
