Rare Smokeyham Posted April 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2018 The last time I boarded a ship at the "new" San Francisco Cruise Terminal we had to wait outside, in an uncovered area, until they opened the doors. On Saturday we will be doing a Bon Voyage Experience, and it is supposed to be raining. Because we are doing the BVE we will be some of the first to board, which we want to take advantage of, but are a bit worried about spending a long time standing out in the rain. Has anyone had any experience at the SF Cruise Ship Terminal recently, and if so can you advise if you had to stand outside if you arrived early? Many thanks. Rare Smokeyham Posted April 30, 2018 Author #2 Share Posted April 30, 2018 I'll post an answer to my own question..... In case it is useful to others. We arrived for our Bon Voyage Experience around 10:30 am. There were passengers waiting outside the building, who were not being let in. We were allowed in since we were doing BVE. So, if you are embarking on a cruise in San Francisco I advise against arriving too early, since there is no sheltered location in which to wait. Rare Smokeyham Posted May 15, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Thanks for answering your own question, helpful to me! First time sailing out of SF, February 2019! Thanks You are most welcome. Crazy that they built a brand new cruise terminal, but did not install any sort of shelter for people who arrive early to wait in.
