Drink Prices and Drink Package Question

 Share

Recommended Posts

My husband and I haven't been on a cruise in five years and are debating whether to purchase the drink package. We tend to drink mixed drinks and husband will have an occasional beer. What is the current price of a basic mixed drink? Not sure if the package is worth it or not.

Only you know how much alcohol the two of you will consume, but this is my take on the package.

I usually get the drink of the day which is around $9.00. Regular drinks run about $12-$13. (plus 18% added to bill) They are also running specials through out the day before noon and in the casino. Check the compass.

I got the package one time when only one had to buy. . Not worth it to hubby since he only get maybe 1 drink a day.

I found with the package, I was drinking more than I normally would. Even with the fresh orange juice and bottles of water, it is not worth it now especially since both have to purchase.

Remember if your cruise is port intensive , you will not be on the ship during those port stops. (Package can be used on their private islands.)

For us, it is pay as you drink.

Enjoy your cruise.

Using an average drink cost of $10 and the purchase of the package at $45 each, you would need to purchase 9 drinks per day between the two of you. If you drink a specialty coffee, a soda/pop, fresh squeezed orange juice and grab a bottled water it drops to about 7 alcoholic drinks per day between the two of you.
