skiingj Posted April 17, 2018 #201 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Smuggle away!! Search this forum and you will find several ways to smuggle that work all the time. Never have I or a friend been caught. There are simple and foolproof ways to smuggle. When Carnival charges $80-$100 a bottle that retails for $20 or less I couldn't blame anyone. Plus why do wine drinkers get a bottle and other drinkers don't? This shareholder supports smuggling :)
LongHill44 Posted April 17, 2018 #202 Share Posted April 17, 2018 The other reasons are an attempt to control or at least monitor individual consumption. When someone falls into the ocean after a failed attempt to sit on a rail or swing from a balcony then Carnival can demonstrate how much they were served over a given time. I know the policy of carry-on wine negates that, but you get my point. . But yet Carnival has a 15 drink limit, how many here can handle 15 strong drinks say from lunch till 10? lol

So are they "strong" or watered down?
ParrotRob Posted April 17, 2018 #204 Share Posted April 17, 2018 But yet Carnival has a 15 drink limit, how many here can handle 15 strong drinks say from lunch till 10? lol If you don't start drinking until lunchtime and stop at 10pm you're an amateur and probably shouldn't be buying cheers. If, on the other hand, you get started on those bloodies at 7:30 and finish the night by closing the casino bar, you can polish off your 15 without even being drunk. Micahs Grandad Posted April 17, 2018 #205 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Wait, someone else complained that the drinks were "watered down" and that was THEIR excuse for smuggling their own. So are they "strong" or watered down? Answer is very simple. Drinks are strong unless they were watered down.:)
SNJCruisers Posted April 17, 2018 #206 Share Posted April 17, 2018 But yet Carnival has a 15 drink limit, how many here can handle 15 strong drinks say from lunch till 10? lol I've mentioned before that I would love to see someone polish off 15 Long island Iced teas or 15 25 oz Fosters Oil cans of beer Wait, someone else complained that the drinks were "watered down" and that was THEIR excuse for smuggling their own. So are they "strong" or watered down? As usual YMMV depending upon what you order drink wise and where you order it. If you order a pre-made drink at one of the pool side bars, it can be watered down, but if you get a made to order drink at the Alchemy Bar, it can certainly be strong to some people's palates. Please explain how consuming 15 drinks over 9 hours makes you an amateur that should not be buying Cheers, whereas if you consume the same 15 drinks over 18 hours, you will not be drunk. The second half of your statement is easy because you're spreading the alcohol consumption over a long period of time and it breaks down to 72 minutes per drink. But, if you do it in half the time, then having a drink every 36 minutes makes you an amateur.:confused::confused: One drink every 36 minutes with a bottle of San Pellegrino in between certainly does not make you an amateur. My point is that people will make up whatever excuse or story they need to prove their point or justify their behavior. For the smuggler, the "excuse" is "watered down drinks", because that's what it takes to justify himself.

Easy. If you can only drink 10 hours a day, then yeah, it does.

If you can only drink 10 hours a day, then yeah, it does. So someone that drinks 10 hours a day is an amateur, but of course an ex Navy guy like yourself that can go 18 hours a day is a professional. And why should someone that drinks only 10 hours a day not get Cheers? Even an amateur that drinks a beer an hour would get his monies worth. Lottacruises Posted April 17, 2018 #212 Share Posted April 17, 2018 They carry the Pepsi equivalent brands of Coke and Sprite in regular and diet version. Now if you want to argue about them not carrying Pepsi Zero Sugar while Carnival and Celebrity both carry Coke Zero Sugar, I will agree with you. But Diet Mt Dew is not a major Pepsi brand and Coca Cola does not have an equivalent soft drink to Mt Dew to begin with. They don't? What is mello yello? Rare splash_in_the_water Posted April 18, 2018 #225 Share Posted April 18, 2018 Well on that we can agree. Cheaters are cheaters, oh and did I say someone "owed" me anything? They state rationalizations for cheating and I call them out. Two facts. We can discuss further if you want? not really. I get your angle, that's fine. I've said before I'm pretty much over it myself. I probably drink more than I should and still, cheers is fine. I still say do what you want, just don't talk about it...just in case carnival is watching ;) If you don't start drinking until lunchtime and stop at 10pm you're an amateur and probably shouldn't be buying cheers. If, on the other hand, you get started on those bloodies at 7:30 and finish the night by closing the casino bar, you can polish off your 15 without even being drunk. yes, if you're experienced, 15 all day isn't a super big deal.
