Smoke and other smells such as perfume on the Epic

Are the smells of smoke and perfume really bad on the Epic outside of the smoking areas/Casino? We are sailing on the Epic in December. I have asthma and was only planning on bringing my inhaler, but if the smell is really bad, I am thinking I need to bring my nebulizer.

I am just reading the threads and seeing the complaints. I was hoping not to have to lug the nebulizer around.

You will always smell smoke outside of the smoking areas. It seems to "stick" in the area. Whether it is extremely bad will depend on the number of smokers on your cruise. As far as perfume smell, no one can answer that question. You will have people onboard that wear perfume, but will you ever pass by them is unknown.

I also have asthma, and bring my medications. If you suffer often, it would be safer to have what you may need with you. I personally, have only brought my inhaler. If I find certain areas to be too much for me, I just avoid them. (I am not a gambler, so I just stay out of the casino.)

Wishing you a happy and healthy cruise.

We were on the Epic last summer, and the only place I ever smelled smoke was on my balcony and in my stateroom because my neighbors were the most inconsiderate humans on that ship and they would chain smoke constantly. By the end of the cruise I had to have my room sprayed down so many times they sent me wine and strawberries as an apology for the inconsiderate humans I was forced to endure.

Seriously though, even in the casino the smoke was not that bad, and I am really sensitive to it.

Casino is the only place we found it really bad for smoke, the design sort of makes it so the most convenient route is through the casino but you can get around that above or below, just plan how you move accordingly.

As for perfume, that would depend on who was on your sailing, we never noticed the staff applying overmuch cologne or perfume.

Ventilation is pretty good on board, the only time we really noticed smell was during the cirque show when someone had too much of a personal smell, even that wasn't too bad, and worth putting up with for the show.
