scott498 Posted April 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Does anyone know the availability of taxis when docking in Naples ? Also, are they regulated by the government ?
CruiserBruce Posted April 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Ship in port= fares. So there will be taxis. Last time I was there a huge taxi line existed. Pretty sure they are city regulated.
euro cruiser Posted April 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2018 There will be a lot of taxis in the parking lot of the cruise port. Naples has a fairly robust fixed-fare system in addition to metered fares. Where do you want to go? Fares are posted on the city's web site here: http://www.comune.napoli.it/flex/cm/pages/ServeBLOB.php/L/IT/IDPagina/1193
dszrew Posted April 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2018 there are taxis just as you walk out, but most of them want to hire for several hours. when we told them we just wanted to do downtown, they waved us on and weren't interested. if you keep walking, nearly to the street, then turn left, there is a taxi stand that is used for the ferries. we did that and no waiting. they may or may not use the meter, either ask them to use it or negotiate the price. we caught cab from downtown back to the ship, didn't ask about price, but it ended up costing us the same as if we had said something beforehand.
