pickypicky Posted April 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2018 I'm planning my day in Dublin and am curious as to whether there's a shuttle into town? Or does Journey dock close enough to walk? I couldn't find any pertinent past posts (;p;p;p) with that information. Thanks!
AllisonJames Posted April 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2018 When we did Irish Seas in July 2016 there was a shuttle and it dropped us off at a very central location right near St. Stephen’s Green.
Wacktle Posted April 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2018 We visited Dublin on a different cruise line and had a shuttle bus transfer into the city centre. The port is too far away to walk.

Last year the drop-off point was near St. Stephen’s Green at Merrion Square, a few steps from a home of Oscar Wilde. There is an interesting statue of Wilde nearby. Very convenient to the HO HO Bus and to Trinity College. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
pickypicky Posted April 15, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted April 15, 2018 Thank you! I have timed entry tix for the Book of Kells at 10:30. We're scheduled to dock at 8:00. Sometimes I don't like to wait for the shuttle. Does Azamara dock within walking distance?
nordski Posted April 15, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2018 Thank you! I have timed entry tix for the Book of Kells at 10:30. We're scheduled to dock at 8:00. Sometimes I don't like to wait for the shuttle. Does Azamara dock within walking distance? Not within walking distance (5-6 km), you would need to get a taxi. The shuttle drop-off (either at Merrion or St. Stepthen’s) is so close I think you will make your 10:30 appt. with no problem, but perhaps you have added plans. I can say that the HOHO Bus provides a great intro. to the city. The Book of Kells is a highlight and I’m certain you will value your time spent there.
