Black sand beach excursion

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure which one you're referring to as there are many black sand beaches (the Big Island of Hawaii should have the most, but I know the other islands have them too), but in Maui, on the Road to Hana, there's a pretty famous black sand beach.

It's more like sharp gravel beach. It HURTS.

When travelers talk about "The Black Sand Beach", they are usually referring to the one on the southern shore of the big island of Hawaii.

Definitely worth seeing but as the previous poster said, it's really not sand......
