ckrobyn Posted May 9, 2018 Author #427 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Looks like you should be close to in port now? My sources say about 20 minutes? Seems your sources are correct [emoji736] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

dpostman Posted May 9, 2018 #430 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Good morning from just outside of Falmouth, Jamaica [emoji1135] I’ve noticed that the only way to hear the Captain’s announcements is to poke my nose outside into the hallway - does anyone know how I can hear him in my stateroom? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hi Robyn, I'm really enjoying reading your live review. As for the announcements, I thought I remember that there was a Channel on the room TV that broadcasted the announcements. We just kept the TV on that channel when we weren't watching anything... which was always ;-) Might be the one with the navigational info. Am I thinking of another cruise line? I think this was on Anthem our last time around. dp
Rare 2Ccruisers Posted May 9, 2018 #431 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I’m really enjoying following along! Regarding the announcements, another cruise line we’ve been on had the knob under the desk. No idea why but maybe that’s where yours is hiding. Enjoy Jamaica!

ckrobyn Posted May 9, 2018 Author #433 Share Posted May 9, 2018 The weather is gorgeous ☀️ The Captain suggested perhaps a scattered thunderstorm later today, so this morning I am taking full advantage of the sun at the freshwater pool. I plan to head ashore at around 2pm..... we are here until 6. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

cruisegirl1 Posted May 9, 2018 #435 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Certainly enjoying being along for the ride. Enjoy the rest of the week. We too can rarely hear announcements in the cabin. Fortunately serious announcement are piped in to the cabin. M

There's usually one of the TV channels that carries the audio from announcements. Try the bridge cam channel, or another of the "info" type channels. ckrobyn Posted May 9, 2018 Author #438 Share Posted May 9, 2018 This post is for the Pool Bag obsessed... I have at least 6 pool bags, but I’m always looking for that “perfect” bag. You know, the one that holds everything, stays relatively dry, is washable and keeps everything inside cool, like my lip balm and iPhone [emoji41] Here is my current favourite that meets all of the criteria listed above Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dett Posted May 9, 2018 #441 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I temember one ship that had a knob near the a/c control that was for the announcements. Not sure if it was on Oasis but it might have been.

ckrobyn Posted May 9, 2018 Author #444 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I’m so glad I spent the entire morning by the pool while it was sunny! After about 2:30pm, the skies clouded over and we have had some intermittent rain showers. We went ashore at 3pm to browse around the port, and look in some of the stores. What trip to Jamaica would be complete without these 2 things?? Or should I say “tings” lol (red stripe not pictured) There is a Margaritaville here now, and we walked in to have a look. Just as Radio reported last week, the pool is very cloudy.... personally I wouldn’t swim there, but that’s just me. There are many shops featuring artisan’s carvings, some are quite spectacular Taxi’s are readily available to take passengers to local beaches and attractions , here’s the price list of a return trip A little history of Falmouth We are back onboard now and just stopped in to the Park Cafe for the very famous Kumelweck roast beef sandwich Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SilkySal Posted May 9, 2018 #445 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Love the wood art in Jamaica! Yum! Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app There is a place right at the port, that’s where I bought mine today. They have beef, chicken or veggie - I had the traditional beef and it was outstanding! Piping hot and super tasty.
