lswilmot Posted May 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2018 We will be in Nassau on September 1st, but the Enchantment does not arrive until noon. We are there until 11:30 pm, but want to be back on the ship by dusk. Suggestions for an afternoon activity. We've done the Straw market and British Hilton on a day pass, but looking for something else. Thanks for any help. lori
Rare mskaufman Posted May 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Have you walked to the Queens Staircase and the fort?
caszos Posted May 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2018 We are looking for similar suggestions. We have found Rose Island is pretty much out of the question unless we do a private charter. There are a couple of RCCL excursions that are just for the afternoon obviously but seem SO expensive if you are only off the ship for a few hours. Rare Turtles06 Posted May 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Go see the famous "marching flamingoes" at the Ardastra Zoo, and hand feed the lories. We thought the flamingoes would be hokey, but the show was charming, and feeding the lories was fabulous. Check the Zoo's web site for the "show" times so you don't miss this. Easy cab ride to the Zoo; tell the driver when you'd like to be picked up. You can start things off with lunch right in town, wonderful Bahamian food at Bahamian Cookin'. Easy walk from the pier. Conch fritters, yum! (photos by turtles06)
girlsbgoing Posted May 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2018 2nd the suggestion of Bahamian Cookin. It’s very good. A lot of locals eat there. I’ll be missing it on my next cruise since they aren’t open on Sundays. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

When our cab driver picked us up at the zoo and we asked him to drop us at Bahamian Cookin, he was impressed and surprised that we knew about it! :D
KBD1516 Posted May 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2018 Sine you will be there In the evening, you will have time to go see Atlantis. Cabs are safe, about $4-5 per person each way. You can walk around the shops and the casino has some fabulous glass sculptures by Chihuly. There is a small shopping area down by the marina- Big boats and a Starbucks. Nice to go visit after dinner. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
