Billy Bee Posted May 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Why is Crystal encouraging parents to bring children on board by offering free sailing to children? As a senior I prefer that Crystal not encourage children to be on their ships. There are plenty of other cruise lines that provide excellent services for families and children. Thus there is no need for Crystal to do so. Some seniors who like to sail with Crystal may decide to change to other cruise lines if more children are on Crystal ships. Why has Crystal not consulted with its regular passengers who are seniors regarding this?
Texas Tillie Posted May 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2018 The answer is that Crystal needs attract a younger passenger base and that would include families. If they don't, they will go out of business eventually as us oldies are dying off! :D I've never had a problem with children on any of my 34 Crystal cruises, including the Christmas cruise on the Mozart with several children passengers. Walter Littlejohn Posted May 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Dear Billy Bee, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Crystal River Cruises does not offer a “Kids Sail Free” program, that program is only available on our ocean cruises and is fact based on the multitude of Crystal guests who like to share the joy of travel with their children and grandchildren. As our ocean ships, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, are the most spacious in the luxury industry, with the only dedicated children’s and teens’ facilities in that sector, we have found that Crystal ships continue to be among the first choices of such families and groups traveling together, seeking a luxury vacation and an onboard experience that caters to everyone. As space is a premium on river ships we don’t have the same facilities, but it has always been Crystal’s policy to welcome all luxury travelers aboard our ships, which often include multi-generational families with children, particularly during summer months and holiday sailings. Kindest Regards, Walter
