Thanks Paul—-that has been our experience on all other princess ships, was hoping that since it is a newer ship itt might be better[emoji57] Sent from my iPad using Forums
Astro Flyer Posted May 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Thanks Paul—-that has been our experience on all other princess ships, was hoping that since it is a newer ship itt might be better[emoji57] We had the same experience as Paul on our Royal October 2017 transatlantic cruise which as you wrote is routinely experienced on all other Princess ships. During the crossing there were a few hours without internet access nor Princess@Sea which may be interconnected. Although based on discussions about poor internet on the Regal’s updated system during their recent TA, our problem on the Royal may have resulted from a more limited satellite coverage. tv24 Posted May 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2018 We were on the Royal last month. The internet was dismal simply because Carnival Corp. has not upgraded its satellite connection. You will be able to perform basic functions very slowly. Anything that requires large bandwidth will probably be impossible. We routinely brought our devices into ports to use wifi wherever we could. We spend $400 on internet minutes and got little for our money. But this is not different than other Carnival lines. Other corporations have made some upgrades and the quality has improved, for instance on Oceania we had fairly good connectivity in December. johnmik1 Posted May 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2018 We just did the transatlantic crossing on Royal and it was an outstanding cruise but I have to admit that the internet was the worst we have ever had.
