scungileen Posted May 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Hi, does anyone know if there are taxi cabs to bring you into Tokyo from Yokohama Port and what the cost for a ride will be?
BruceMuzz Posted May 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Yokohama's Osanbashi Cruise Terminal always has loads of taxis that can take you to Tokyo. Travel time will be from 60 to 90 minutes - depending on traffic and which part of Tokyo you want. Fare will be about US$200. The train from Nihon-Odori subway station (2 blocks from the cruise terminal) to central Tokyo takes about 40 minutes and costs less than US$5.00 per person. loeb Posted May 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2018 It might help if we had more information. Are you disembarking the ship in Yokohama and want to spend a few days in Tokyo after the cruise (this assume you will have luggage). Are you just going to Tokyo for the day while your ship is docked in Yokohama. If so, you might want to connect with some others on your cruise to share a taxi since you won't have any luggage or arrange a tour of Tokyo from Yokohama. Assuming you are disembaking, as an alternative to Bruce's suggestion, you might consider a shared bus or van. Viator offers transfers, see the site https://www.viator.com/tours/Tokyo/Private-Yokohama-Transfer-Tokyo-Hotels-to-Yokohama-Port/d334-6006YOKHTLPRT_P. Note that Viator contracts with Green Tomato to provide the transfer, you can book directly with Green Tomato.
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted May 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Yes, there are plenty of cabs. We stayed in Shiodome, between the Shimbashi and Shiodome stations. We docked on a Friday and chose to disembark after 9:30am. Traffic was light so the fare was only ¥12,500 (around US $114) which was much less than the ¥16,000+ (US $145) I expected. pacrimheather Posted May 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2018 Personally, I think using taxis for long-haul trips is a waste of money. With some advance planning, you can avoid the cost and save that money for something better.

roodoog Posted May 19, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2018 We will arrive at Tokyo Narita airport 10 of june and need to go to Harima passenger terminal. What is the best (quickest/cheapest) way to get there because i saw that normal taxis are very expensive. Maybe someone already made that trip and can advice us. Thanks in advance
roodoog Posted May 20, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2018 The Tokyo cruise terminal is called HARUMI. It is located on a small island in Tokyo Bay. From Narita Airport, you can take the Narita Express train to Tokyo station. Fare is about 3,000 yen per person. Travel time is 60 minutes. From Tokyo station you can take a taxi to Harumi Terminal. Fare is about 2,000 yen; travel time is about 15 minutes. Thanks very much for the info, i think we will try that.:D
