Do you know if the deli has the new menu too?

Guess I should have took picture of the menu! Never ate at the deli. But hubby got a Ruben twice and it was grill pressed. Same as I've always seen

Great review! Looking forward to more! I’m looking st this itinerary for next March. Did you notice any more crowding than any other ships?

I had read a lot of people here on cruise critic saying it was more crowded, but i didnt agree. The food area was always with lines of course but no more then i saw on the dream or the vista. I only did the buffet once and no line at all. I think it helps having so many more options to eat at. I got guys burger once and didnt wait in line at all. The shows were never full so there was always seating. Now the pool and deck on the last seaday were very crowded. But nothing worse then any other ship I've been on. When they ran specials at the shops it did get rather crowded. But i just waited till it thinned out. They had the old way of looking for your pictures...didnt like that so much. On the vista it was on a computer and you found it by your number and pics posted to the hub.....much easier! Oh and i always took the glass elevator and never waited long....thought that was funny...no one wanted to use it. fb961b6dc3c16fa22f7b13c0dabb099e.jpg

Thanks for posting the review of the excursion in Amber Cove. I have been strongly considering it for my July cruise and I think your review and photos may have convinced me. It looks like they have helpers for those who are trying to kayak. That’s good for those of us who have never used a kayak. Following the rest of your review.

Before i continue with day 3 grand turk....I'm going to address some things i had forgotten to mention previously.

I had seen some questions about the sunshine and will try to remember some of them. There is a refrig in the room.....not the coldest but was there. As priority our free gift was the head phones. We got two sets of them. That's cool cause i use them with my ipad for hulu and netflix. The bathroom door was magnetic, but not the outside door or the walls. I did use a hammock and it was one of those hiking ones that have two rolls of belting and the hooks. I wrapped one side up top near the door ...of the crossover bar on the balcony divider and the other side to the front hinge of the divider....that way the hammock went Katy corner acrossed the balcony. Much more comfy that way. Then when I wasn't using it i just unhooked it and took it in....left the straps out there. Another oddity was the balcony door was sliding.....how awesome is that. Didn't need my bungy cords

We didn't hang out at any of the bars and shamefully never made it to a comedy show....but i heard they were very good. Mikey from South Africa was the cruise director and he was great to watch .....very energetic.

They had a salute to the military on the third night after amber cove. We went as we are both veterans. Was a nice touch from mikey.

Also on the first day they had a shipping special ... $10 items buy 4 get one free. They had a lot of cute bags like back packs but with one strap and perfect size for shore excursions. Held my money passports and cc very safely. I ended up buying them for the grandkids too.....loved the size. Also had crochet shawls ...i bought a bunch. And hats....also they had t shirts on sale everyday. So see if you loose your luggage they will hook you up!!

They had a movie everynight on the big screen. Daddy's home, pitch perfect....murder on the orient express, the greatest showman, 12 strong.....Ferdinand, jumanji, ......maze runner, Star Wars the last Jedi, black panther .....peter rabbit, coco....in that order.

Oh and they had build a bear on the ship.....cool!

Ok day 3 grand turk

We did another excursion this time it was "home sweet Home" ....another all you can eat and drink.. hubby was cut off this day and had to stay in the shade since he was pretty burnt. The place was beautiful but i didnt snorkel cause there was a Coral reaf pretty close and i did want to try and get around it. They did have a big island trampoline out there but i was chicken. I had brought my snorkel but not my vest or finns so i was afraid to try it. Or well next time. After we ate they said we could hitch a ride back anytime so we left alittle early. The people on this excursion were of the older then me group and not much fun, to put it nicely...and I didnt get to look around at amber cove so wanted to have some time in port at grand turk. Got our passports stamped...always forget to do that!! A lot of people stayed in the port area .....it was very nice but more crowded. I'll add some pics at the end of this.

We went back on board and i had my first and only guys burger. I ate a couple when i went on the vista and lived to regret it. So this time i didnt do those yummy cooked onions. But the greasy fries were delicious. We then went to the room dumped our stuff and headed up to watch the latecomers board. And boy do they push that button. 20 minutes after final boarding they were still slowly coming outa the shop. We were all wanting the captain to blow the horn.

On this night we had reservations at the Cucina del Capitano. We dressed up alittle and got there at 7pm. Not on the same level as the steak house but pretty good we both got the chicken Parmesan and I wasn't overly impressed. Long horns is better lol

We did get the Italian coffee and it was strong but yummy. We wandered around abit and back to the room early. This was a very bad snoring night for me i about went out on the hammock to sleep. I was afraid he was waking the neighbors.

Day 4 or 5 depending on how you count em. This was the last day regardless. What i call the packing and depressing day.

Had breakfast at the Buffett and then i got me a chair on the main deck up from the pool.....all the chair hogs had taken the ones on the serenity deck. And it was still early. We sat near the stairs to go up to serenity ....was entertaining watching everyone go up there with their towels looking for a chair only to come back down lol.

I went down and bought some of the cheep jewelry and looked for our pictures. Then we did lunch in the Italian area again....my last time for chicken Alfredo. This time hubby got it too and he agreed that its great!

Hit the casino before dinner and finally won back some money. We did dinner at the buffet on lido and was the first time for that. Not impressed. back in the old days they had so much more food to choose from. Even the desserts were lacking. Maybe that's why i never felt like it was crowded. Ill add a pic of my plate ....

Back to the room to do that depressing packing thing. Then try and sleep with snore guy!

At around 4am i got up and thought about seriously sleeping on the deck. I walked out there and we were stopped. I thought ...wow, we're in port awful early. I turned on the bathroom light and layed back down, the light went out...i thought the boat rocked and made the door shut....so i dozed off for a minute. I woke up and it was completely dark....couldn't even find my cell phone to use the flashlight. I had a fan in the room so i knew the power was out. At this point hubby woke up too and said yes we were dead in the water. Then the power came on for a second and went back out. I looked in the hallway and the emergency lights were on. We started moving again but in a circle....I'm like what is going on. Power came back on finally and after awhile mikey come on the overhead to say the usual "sorry for the inconvenience" by now it was light out and we could see what the heck was happening outside. We were def going in a circle. Then we saw tug boats with us......after we got going in the right direction. The boats secured to us to, i guess, push us in port. They couldn't steer us in i am assuming. Thank goodness we were close when this happened.

We got all our stuff together and went to the forth floor above the atrium to wait. When we saw a priority person leave we went down and were off ...bags were in the area and we were on the road by 8:30.....

Any question....i will try to answer if i can. All in all was great i saw nothing wrong with the sunshine. Would do it again. Maybe not with snore guy lol95f01a90fe79f59595a00ed99bb8d187.jpg
