darlu Posted May 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2018 We will have a day before and the day after our cruise to spend in Bordeaux. Does anyone have suggestions on where to eat do tastings etc. We are really interested if anyone is familiar with the excursions we will take on this cruise so they can recommend other excursions to do when not on the cruise? We would love to take a day or half day excursion but don’t want to do the same exact vineyards that Viking will take us to on our cruise . Anyone going on this cruise that we can meet up with? Really looking forward to our first river cruise experience. Darin and Lucie
Cyber Kat Posted May 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2018 You will probably find a group for your itinerary in the Roll Call section. Since river ships only hold 190 passengers, there usually aren’t enough people for a sailing specific roll call, so what people do is set up one for each itinerary and year - like Rhine Getaway 2018 or Grand European 2018. I’m not sure which itinerary has Bordeaux, but I did see one for France’s Finest. Usually someone keeps a list of all the sailings so you may find someone sailing with you. Darin and Lucie Check out the Ports of Call/Europe/France section of Cruise Critic and on Trip Advisor for your questions about Bourdeaux itself. The audience is much bigger and not limited to the very small number who have visited the area on a riverboat cruise so you will have a better chance of getting replies. If you have not already found it, go here to see what tours are included on your cruise and any optional tours that are on offer. If you want to know which vineyards a particular tour visits, the folks at tellus@vikingcruises.com might be the best ones to ask, especially as it is possible that these change from year to year. Include your booking number in e-mail.
