Edinburgh shuttle from port?

:)My family and I will be in Edinburgh on Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas. We’ve booked tickets for Edinburgh Castle that day and I’m wondering what’s the best way to get there from port.

If the port is Queensferry, it is very convenient to take the train from the Dalmeny station to Edinburgh. However, there is one potential catch -- walking to the Dolmeny train station requires a hike up a very long and steep set of stairs called Jacob's ladder (many many steps). It has been a few years since we did this. Back then the steps were large wood blocks -- kind of like RR ties. There is a handrail.

 

I recall seeing some shuttle type buses, but don't know how they were arranged/booked or even where they were going.
