Fouremco Posted May 29, 2018 #26 Share Posted May 29, 2018 And there is a huge difference between "kindly suggesting" that the search feature is a useful tool and slamming them with CAPS, asking if they can READ. I will continue to be kind to those asking for assistance. That's all I can control. Others can choose if they want to be dismissive (kindly or not). Well said. TrolleyGirl Posted May 29, 2018 #27 Share Posted May 29, 2018 Just how long should a poster be on CC before we are dismissive to them? Does courtesy have an expiration date? Can we get an Amen?!
Host Walt Posted May 30, 2018 #28 Share Posted May 30, 2018 This thread has drifted seriously and unfortunately into territory that is not conforming with our posting guidelines. "Treat the cruisers here the same way you'd treat anyone you'd met for the first time. This is important because anyone is welcome to participate in our community... Basically, you shouldn't treat cyberspace any differently than you would real life. ...The fundamental concept is that you should NOT totally rely upon the information or opinions you read. Rather, you should use what you read here as starting points for doing independent research on cruise lines, ships, hotels, shore excursions and bargain-hunting techniques. Then judge for yourself the merits of the material that has been shared in our forum. ...Staff members and our volunteers are here to provide you with an environment that is free from advertising and soliciting, free from harassment, vulgarity and disparaging statements, as well as providing you with a safe haven brought together by those sharing a mutual interest: cruising!"
